HELP I lost my priceless gold/dia cross at the tanning salon last week I've been sick and suddenly remembered

last night. This morning I went to the salon and asked if they had a lost and found. Upon talking to the asst. manager who claimed there was nothing in the lost and found I mentioned I would pay a hefty reward ($500 or more) to anyone who finds it. After dropping off a picture of it and a note saying I Will pay a reward upon immediate retun. THe story was they had to double check the safe and thought it might be there. Suddenly a few hours later I get a voice message saying they found my cross! I am so happy they found it but I am sad I have to pay a reward to people who seem shady. I want to be honest to my word and was wondering if it would be a good idea to post date checks in increments to pay the reward? Imput please!!!!! And star also because I need many answers before morning.

maybe since they changed their story about not having your necklace, you should change the amount of the reward.
Reduce the reward to say,$50. and tell them they changed their story so you changed yours.
they seem like crooks but it would be hard to prove it.
I wouldn't go there again and next time you tan somewhere, leave your good jewlery at home.
My husband seems to think it isn't a bad idea to give them a post-dated check and then don't give them anything since it seems like a fake story they were giving you. Someone was going to keep your necklace until they thought about the money.Hope it works out for you.The way I look at is, they were just out to get something for nothing and you don't owe them anything.
