Does anyone know about an all-natural bug repellent for my garden? I need something to get underground bugs 2.

I need a repellent that I can feel safe eating. Since me and my family will be eating the veggies coming out of the garden pretty much daily I don't want to use "conventional" pesticides. If the solution works underground all the better because there are grubs and larvae under the topsoil and such. Thanks!

Look for a series of gardening books by Jerry Baker...one is The Impatient Gardener--there are others. I used these as my "bible" as a new gardener and frequently rely on them. He is great! Elaine

Organic pest control - Natural bug and insect repellents



Anybody know how to make natural bug repellent?

Does anybody know how to make a natural mosquito repellent out of regular household stuff? Like with herbs etc. Maybe lavender oil?

Essential oil insect repellent:
4 drops eucalyptus essential oil
4 drops lavender essential oil
4 drops rosemary essential oil
4 drops tea tree essential oil
Mix well together and add to 2 ounces of witch hazel and 8 ounces of water put into a spray bottle and shake well before each use

OR
1/3 cup olive oil or distilled water
10 drops peppermint essential oil
10 drops eucalyptus essential oil
10 drops citronella essential oil
mix well together
The second one is much stronger than the first and the scent is stronger also, I wouldn't recommend it for children, use the first one for children.
