Why can't I find a foundation that matches my neck?

I have fair skin and I use Maybelline foundation. Whenever I apply my makeup it looks good in the bathroom mirror, but when I go out in the sun and look in a mirror my face is a nasty pink color that is no where close to my neck. I use the lightest colors in foundation and I've tried different kinds of foundation by maybelline and even the lightest one by clinique. It always turns my face pink! My neck is a light/yellowish looking color.

I would suggest MAC because the makeup is matched to undertones. I had problems finding a shade that really worked for me, so that's how I came to use MAC.
