Is it really so hard to admit the bible is myth and STILL think there's some kind of Supreme Being out there?

What's with all this one or the other garbage? Jewish, Christian and atheist are only three options out of a thousand. To me, the creation itself is the only possible "revelation" or "evidence" of a Creator and science is the best way to study it. That concept is often called Deism.

The acknowledgment of something greater than ourselves is the first path to faith. Any one humble enough to admit this will surely believe.

True. Both have. The problem is that the upper house (House of Lords) has been enslaved by the House of Commons since 1911. It gets worse every year.

Currently, there is a British Supreme Court. It's called the Law Lords. Theses are members of the House of Lords with judicial backgrounds (usually ex-judges).

The real problem is the British Constitution. There isn't one. What they call the British Constitution is actually a bunch of various laws and traditions built up over the centuries.

One problem with this is that the House of Commons is considered supreme. Its will is considered the final word even over the Law Lords. Since the British PM and Cabinet are chosen from the House and run the House, the Government is supreme over any court. When the former Argentine Dictator, Pinochet, was held in Britain for extradition. The Law Lord said he should be extradited. However, the British Government did not comply. If an American President openly defied a Supreme Court order, it would be grounds for impeachment.

The Brit government doesn't do it very often because they could loose the next election, but they can.

I guess I am saying that even if they support a new Supreme Court, it will be hard to overcome centuries of precedent where the government could simply ignore court rulings.

For example, British law allows Parliament to declare someone guilty. It would be like Congress could declare you guilty of the Kennedy assassination even though you weren't born yet. You would still be legally guilty. Lucky for you, such power is something the founding fathers banned both for Federal and State governments in the Constitution. It was a real sore spot for them.
