Can you help me out? I have a problem "pic included"?

With my face you see that picture its my left cheek I have been breaking out bad with pimples such as whiteheads that get big and then grow a head filled with pus. From research they are not scars they are hyper pigmentation and I am desperate to get rid of them . At the beginning I would only get one suddenly there are alot of small marks I really don't recall having small little pimples like it seems. Help me out ..... I use african black soap and I practically gave up on over the counter products the Derm said that I don't have a serious Case that just a gentle cleanser will do..... Tell me something I dont know. Like what to try...
