Disney not observing?!?

My kids watch the Disney Channel from sun up to sun down. Today I reluctantly gave in again to their pleas and switched to their channel. Later something occurred to me.
Not once throughout the entire day did any one person on the Disney channel even mention Veterans day!! There were commercials about Thanksgiving and a lot of mentions of shopping for Christmas, but no one even acknowledged that this was a holiday. Oddly they chose to mention Christmas, a christian holiday and in modern times a no-no(as it implies bias toward one religion), but no mention was ever made to honor our nations veterans!!! Robin Meade was all over it on Morning Express and many channels ran war movies in remembrance so I fail to see how Disney could have missed the memo on the holiday! How do you feel about it?

I think they should have acknowledged it in some way even if it was just saying "Happy Veterans Day", they don't necessarily have to show war things and violence but its good to teach the children where we get our freedom from, and you can do that in a "happy-way".
