Emulsion Lotion

2 and half months old puppy sheds heavily?

Labrador retriever puppy sheds heavily and scratching his body everytime. Something dandruff like substance is visible where it lost the fur. I took him to the vet and he gave a lotion by name "ASCABIOL Emulsion" to apply on the puppy body where there is no fur three times a day. There is no improvement after 1 week though. Every morning i can see a lot of fur on the mat it slept. Whats the puppy's disease? Is it dangerous? Should i go on with that medicine? Please help. De wormed and given all the shots.

The puppy eats and drinks normally. Looks like he hasnt any other problems. Hes active and plays, bites and sleeps normally.
