Doxycycline tablets, retin-a gel and the sun?

Recently I went to the GP about my acne and he put me on Doxycycline tablets and retin-a gel. And apparently, while you're on this medication you should limit your time in the sun because it becomes sensitive i think thats why

This is like, impossible for me because I play A LOT of outdoor sport and where I am, summer is just approaching so it will be hard.

I also burn a little but but not tons, and my skin tans.

And when I burn it turns into tan.

I like getting tanned!
I WEAR SUNSCREEN WHEN I'M OUT IN HOT WEATHER ps.

Will this make me tan/burn then turn into tan more?
Should i be a bit more careful when I'm outside?

Oh and have you tried Doxycycline tablets or retin-a gel and did they work?

Doctors and Pharmacists have to cover themselves so they tell you to stay out of the sun. It is true if you gou out on both of these meds you will get sunburnt more easily.

Just wear a good SPF 30+ at least and see how that works. You said you like to get tan, but you don't want to fry, and Retin-A will make you super dry, and you'll hate it, so try SPF 30 at least, until you get used to the meds.

I now use Proactiv and it makes me burn easily, but I no longer wear sunscreen at all because I dont' live in the sun, just get some now and then so what the hell...i guess I'm stupid.

Either way, be careful at first and go from there....even with a high SPF sunscreen you can still get burned, so watch out.

Finally, see if you can find a sun-screen that is "non-comodogenic" which means that it doesn't clog pores! It may be hard to find this, but if you look around you should locate something.

P.S. I never used Doxy or Retin-A, but I saw MANY people have great experiences with Retin-A, so give it a try. Like I said though, I do know it will make your skin very dry until you get used to it, then it will calm down a lot.
