GIRL: Worried About Making An Effort For School!!!! (Style wise!!)!?!??!?

Heyy, well we have to wear a uniform, but we are allowed to wear subtle makeup and hairstyles etc-, but in our school, the style is quite "indie" and most people try to make it look as though they haven't made an effort, eg, teasing their hair into a messy hairstyle, grungy eye makeup and pale skin, etc- and it's pretty cool, but I look better with a more polished look.
On weekends I curl my long thick hair, and wear bronzer and lots of mascara, and people say I look like a girly girl (even though I dress more edgy / stylish)...

My question is would it be wierd if I turned up to school with my hair all curled and bronzer etc- and will everyone think i've made too much of an effort? I don't want to look like i've tried too hard, but I want to look nice! Please help???? Advice?? Thankyuououu!!

do what you want to do, be a non-comformist. all those kids who think they're being "indie" are actually not being indie at all. cause if they were indie, they wouldn't be going for a certain look. real indie kids are independant, and dress and look how they want to, not how they think the indie style looks. if you want to wear mascara and bronzer, do it. because in all reality, you'll be more independant and unique than anyone else at the school because they all try to look indie when they're really not.
