what to expect when going to a tanning salon?

i've never been tanning, but i'd like to during the school year to keep up this amazing summer tan....so like do you wear your swimsuit? do you need a goggle thing? do you wear lotion? is it expensive, i'd like to know some of this before going in so i don't look like i don't know anything..thanks!

You can wear a swimsuit or underwear if it makes you more comfortable but most people tan without clothing on. You can wear lotions that they sell at the salon- but some of them have a "tingle effect" that you may not like... I would not start with one of them. You lie in a tube like bed, and yes, you have to wear eye protection- most salons will supply them for you. For the first time- I would only go for about 15 minutes- to make sure that you don't burn... after that, you can go for 20-30 minutes. There is usually music and a fan to cool you down. Tell the staff that it is your first time and they will show you how to work the bed.

How To Properly Use A Tanning Bed To Reduce Skin Damage

Tanning beds are a great way to get a deep, even tan all year round.
However, just as with tanning in natural light, there are health concerns
that should be taken into consideration before beginning any tanning regimen.
