How to lighten skin using at home stuff, or cheap stuff. Ive got uneven skin color...?

Alright so i have dark skin. Im honey colored and kinda almondy but im not too dark. Anyways, i go to the pool a lot but i wait until the pool is covered in shade so i dont get too tan from the sun but i have notice that i have a light patchy color on my right cheek. Its like a 1 inch in diameter circle. I found out that its from the pool water.

What im asking is whats the fastest or best way to lighten up my skin?? I DO NOT want to be like MJ but i just want my skin color to have just a light tan.

I open to trying anything. Ive heard hydrogen peroxide, lemon juice and potato's "work" but i would like to have someone who HAS tried one of these. Does it work?
I just want an even skin color. Im not looking to be fair skinned or pale but a subtle color. Please help :/

I suggest you stop going to the pool maybe go to a beach instead.
