ok so i used jergens natural glow lotion to make my skin look tan and it worked great! but now parts of it are fading and i want to easily get it all off so i can restart so that my skin wont be different colors!

Dr. Sandy Skotnicki, Kao Brands' Dermatologist and medical director of the Bay Dermatology Centre in Toronto, sheds light on common myths and misunderstandings about protecting your skin against harmful UV rays.

"I'm amazed at how little sun protection people use on a daily basis," says Dr. Skotnicki. "Even if you're not on the beach or in direct sunlight, you must apply UVA/UVB protection daily. It's a preventable disease, but unfortunately skin cancer is still a widely diagnosed illness."

What is SPF?

SPF stands for sun protection factor. It is the degree to which a sunscreen protects skin from the direct rays of the sun. For example, if you normally burn in 10 minutes, wearing SPF 20 – applied properly – will protect you from burning in the sun for approximately 200 minutes.

Does layering different SPF factors result in a higher overall SPF?
