How was Alexander the Great able to conquer the world with the Mycenaean logistical supremacy?

If you were to argue that Alexander the Great was able to conquer most of the world because of his army's logistical supremacy, what points could you bring into the conversation?

I'm looking for a "cause" and "benefit" relationship, and what would happen if they didn't have these logistics.

quick example: An army marches on it's stomach, so the ability to feed the soldiers was what helped the army continue on long campaigns. Otherwise the army would have had to come back after the food ran out.

Well he wasn't always careful of his logistics as his march across the Gedrosian desert showed. The fleet he thought would resupply him never made contact with his army which was marching inland on the far side of the coastal mountains. He supposedly lost three-quarters of the troops with him. (Much of his baggage train had been sent overland via a different route via Afghanistan).

That said, he usually had one of his generals in command of the logistics. At one point he had Parmenion killed precisely because he controlled his supply lines. (Parmenion's son was implicated in a plot against Alexander.)

As for the claim in the previous answer that "Napoleon and Hitler could have taken over Russia, but they invaded in the winter; which made it difficult for them to replenish their stores." Napoleon invaded Russia on 23 June 1812. Hitler invaded Russia 22 June 1941. The winter caught them before they could finish the Russians off.
