Best lotion to help extreme sunburns and peelng sk?

My 12 year old son was on vacation in Mexico with his best friend with his mom (one of my best friends) for 1 week. I told her to make sure to completely slather him in sunscreen as often as needed and to reapply every hour. He came home today, He has a complete layer of reddish skin, with skin flaky and peeling from head to toe. I am a bit POed at my girlfriend not covering him up in the sun.

Right now he is sitting in the bath. I have always taken care of his skin as well as mine, moisturizing daily etc.

What would be the best lotion to moisturize his skin and soothe the dead flaky skin?What do I repeat and what should I use daily and routinely, and how often? I have all the medicine I need to ease pain, so no worries about that.

I apologize for the title words that are not spelled correctly.

I would advise that you cover the burnt area with white soft paraffin (white petroleum) or aqueous cream bp. (check the links below and see if you can find a local equivalent). wash the burn and reapply every 4-6 hours - cover with cling wrap if you wish to cover with clothes - this will stop your clothes getting covered with paraffin and maintains the burn. cling wrap alone is also ok if you can't get hold of any paraffin. it acts as a protective artificial skin - helping retain moisture and protect from further damage and pain.

aloe is good coz it remoisturises but that moisture can be quickly lost as the skin can't contain fluids. so put aloe on, and then the paraffin on over the top. if there is broken skin leave out the aloe - just paraffin.
