Lotion Face Is glycerin a good ingredient for face lotion?
I have been looking for a good night time face lotion. Reading the ingredients for the more expensive face lotions, I notice that glycerin is high up on the list.
I'm not sure putting sugar on my skin is a good thing. Doesn't that cause inflammation?
Glycerin is good for your skin, especially if you have dry and/or sensitive skin. It's a natural humectant, which means it has the ability to absorb moisture from the air and lock it into your skin, thereby keeping it moist. Lots of skincare products and makeup products contain glycerin, most commonly you can find it in mixing mediums and "transformers" which turn eye shadows into liquid liners.
As far as putting sugar on your face, I do that anyway! Cetaphil cleanser mixed with regular white sugar makes the best facial scrub!
As inflammation goes, I have never heard about that before. A lot of products we use on our skin every day are based on sugar alcohols.
