Burnt by Tanning Lotion?

Ok so a friend of mine gave me a tanning lotion called "Spicy Brown Sugar" by Tan Incorporated.
I used the stuff once and my skin became really red and hot, just as if i was getting a sunburn right then!

The Product reads:
Spicy Brown Sugar with hemp seed oil
Hot Formula

Then on the back:
Caution, this product is extremely hot and is recommended for advanced tanners only

Is it supposed to burn the crap out of me like it did?

Ha ha, yeah it's supposed to do that. It's called a "Tingle" commonly in the tanning industry. Some people claim to get a better tan using a "hot" or "tingle" lotion. I used to manage a tanning salon and have tried all kinds of tanning lotions; I never noticed a difference in my tan when using a tingle. It's not for everyone.

Natural Skin Care Products From Jojoba Butter To Coconut Oil
