what is the difference between an accellerator an optimizer and a maximizer?

i've recently started to go to the tanning salon and i don't understand all the different lotions

Some lines (such as California Tan) come in steps. Step 1-Accelerators build your base tan. Step 2-Maximizers get you beyond your tanning plateau. Meaning, when you are just starting out you should use an accelerator. Continue to use your accelerator until you are no longer seeing results from the tanning bed. Move to your Maximizer after you have reached your plateau (can no longer see results) After using a maximizer you will recondition and replenish your skin and may need to move back to an accelerator if you plateau again.
