Solutions to SUPER oily complexion? Any dermatologists out there? Anyone, please help.?


ok, so my face is VERY VERY oily. when i was up it's totally shiny and extremely gross. i also have some acne problems as well. i don't have bad pimples but i get them around sometimes. I am on differin, benza clin, a pill, and i use the three step clinique system for oily skin. it does not work. i have to use like 4 blotting papers a day and they always fill up. I hate my skin and i wish that i could wake up and have my face not be oily what so ever. is there any way i can fix this? i don't care how much it costs. maybe a certain moisturizer, face wash, makeup? i heard milk of magnesium works but it can also give major break outs and i don't want to risk that. so please, give me your solution, and help me out, thankyou!

-The kinds of food you eat
-How much sugar you eat
-do you drink a lot of caffeine
-Do you excersize regularly
-How much water do you consume
-How regular are your sleeping patterns
-How you wear your hair
-How much do you touch your face
-Your make up
-Stressed?
-What skin products do you use
-How often do you receive facials

First of all, I know what you are going through. All through high school I'd walk through the halls with my sleeves pulled over my hands and my hands up to my face so no one would see. I was so embarrassed all the time. Since graduating I have gone to Cosmetology school where my eyes were opened to how to really take care of the skin.

Your diet plays a huge part in your skin's condition. Eating greasy and oily foods are going to cause your skin to make you pay.

Sugar. Oh gracious Sugar. Sugar is one thing you really want to cut down on. It's worth it.

I cut caffeine almost completely out of my diet and my acne (was moderate-severe) has decreased measurably! It was a hard thing to do at first but when i saw the results i was so happy.

Excersize is key in healthy skin. You need to excersize to detox. It's imparitive.

With that you need to drink tons of water! All that bad stuff wants to get out! So let it go out your excreatory system instead of your integumentary system.

Sleeping on a regular schedule is important as well. Your body heals itself when you sleep. Making sure you get a good nights rest is key. Also making sure you change your sheets and pillow cases every 1-2 weeks is a good idea too. the oil from your face will obsorb into the pillow case and if you sleep on it every night for a month well, yeah you're going ot break out.

As hard as it is you need to get your hair and your hands off your face. your scalp is your face continued. If your face is oily your hair is as well most likely. get your hair off and away from your face! Having hair stuck to your face is just going to trap oil and dirt in. Your hands are super oily and dirty as well. Touch it as little as possible (I used to do this alot, I was a picker, and since I've lessened the amount i touch my face its really helped!)

Let your skin breath! I know your first instinct is to cover it up! but don't. A long time ago my doctor told me the best make up is no make up and now I believe him. Acne is cause by bacteria in your pores as well as dirt and irratation. Bacteria cannot live in the presence of oxygen. You're doing your skin a disservice by loading on the make up.

Stress is a huge factor in how your skin looks. Try not being so stressed about your skin! Find something good about your self to focus on! There's something pretty about you I know it. focus on that thing. I am going to share with you something my cousins made me do everyday for a year and something I've continued to do on and off since. Go to the mirror after you've just washed your face and say to yourself "I am beautiful." I know corny right. You won't believe yourself for months. trust me is just said it and laughed. But after a while you start noticing things about yourself that you realize hey I am kinda pretty. Find ways to boost yourself esteem. stressing about how beautiful we are is the first thing we do but the LAST thing we should do.

I am not a dermatologist. But i can tell you that if you are reacting harshly to any medication/creams you have been given that will only make your dilema worse. take note of how your skin feels and appears after using any medications. Talk to your dermatologist about your findings. On top of this, you should have a cosmecuetical grade of skin care product. I highly recommend Oxygen Botanicals. It has worked wonders for me. Washing Twice daily and exfoliating twice a week and moisturizing thoroughly will help you so much I think. Also if you are doing any kind of extracting (popping zits and what not) you need to invest in an astringent to keep bacteria at bay.

Facials are a great way to relax and have someone else worry about your skin! Going to a Salon or MediSpa and recieving facials maybe every 3-4 weeks will really help you.

Like all other organs, if it is not working properly its going to be expensive to fix. But if you really want it, follow these directions and your skin will improve. Try not to be obsessive about your skin, you'll just worry and stress more. Good luck!
