Olive Leaf Cream

What do you think would be a great side dish or two and wine pairing for this main course?

I'm grilling lamb seasoned like this

4 lamb steaks (each about 1/2-inch thick and 6 to 8 ounces)
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon dried oregano (preferably Greek)
1 tablespoon minced garlic
Coarse salt (kosher or sea) and freshly ground black pepper
1/4 cup diced sweet onion
1/4 cup chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley

with a feta cheese sauce with all of this

3 ounces feta cheese, drained and crumbled (about 6 tablespoons)
1/4 cup milk or water
3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
2 teaspoons sweet paprika
1/2 teaspoon hot red pepper flakes
About 3 tablespoons heavy (whipping) cream
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice, or more to taste
Coarse salt (kosher or sea; optional) and freshly ground black pepper

I'm making a special birthday dinner, so what would go perfect with this?

Also any wine recommendations? Thank you!

Personally I wouldn't do the feta cheese sauce- The lamb sounds like it would be perfect standing alone with some great marinated flavor. Good cuts of meat don't really need a thick fatty sauce on top of it, and it sounds like the lamb will have enough flavor.

With it I would do an orzo with some lemon caramelized onion and parsley, or a mushroom orzo like this one http://www.cooks.com/rec/doc/0,1835,157160-234193,00.html

And for a vegetable I would simply roast some broccoli in the oven with a little olive oil and kosher salt.

If you want to do a feta cheese you can do a spinach salad with thin sliced red onion, and some kalamata olives, and do a feta cheese dressing (like the one you have up above but with a little less mayonnaise) Or start the meal off with some cubed feta cheese on a plate with some bread and dipping oil.

Now onto the wine! With a lamb you are going to want to pair it with something that really stands up to the lamb. That means a full body red! A cabernet sauvignon would be beautiful, or a Syrah but my gut says do a chianti as your dish has a lot of spices that and a blended red might stand up well to everything gone on there.
