What should I pack for a trip to Australia?

I will be leaving on Monday for a three week trip starting from Sydney and up the coast to Cairns. I know that Australia is currently in winter, though winter there is not as bad as the US. Though my only problem is that I'm only allowed to pack one pair of jeans. It's for an ambassador program and jeans are not the proper attire. Thanks for any help!

Semi formal ware ,skirts ,light slacks,ect. As you travel north the temp gets warmer. Light sweater and a coat/jacket for just in case as the weather this time of year can turn cold in an instant. ps. Dont forget your swim suit. Lovely beaches around Cairns, and enjoy your stay in aus. (oz)
