Plastic Acrylic Plexiglass

can UVA/B rays penetrate plexiglass / acrylic plastic?

I have some plants planted under a thin piece of acrylic plastic (serve as a divider for protection) in my turtle tank. I was wondering if the UVA/B lights are able to get through it to the plants?
i got mine at a local hardware store for ~$30-40, those should be fine as to allowing uv rays to get through, correct?

unless the plastic is coated with an anti UV the rays will get to the plants you would know if it was coated because it would have been very expensive plastic.

Help with doors on a model?

Hi, I'm supposed to build a model out of plexiglass(acrylic glass) and plastic, and of course it needs doors, but I don't have any additional material such as mini-hinges. How can I make functional doors out of this? Can I make a makeshift hinge out of something?
P.S. It's a small model. Like, 40cmish x 40cmish so yeah.
