How to get rid of scars on legs of a 4yr old?

My son is 4 yrs old and after a bout of chicken pox, he has some dark looking scars on his legs. Plus every time he gets bitten, he will scratch till it bleeds, thus leaving another scar. Tried aloe vera but the marks are still there. Please anyone can help? What can i do without having to spend too much on expensive creams?
