Can someone recommend a game for my dad?

I sit next to my dad (who has played Diablo II since it came out). Here's the scene every time:

0:00 Arrives, boots up game
~30:00 *bashes potion keys like a monkey* "****! GODDAMNIT I GOT KILLED!"
~35:00 *more potions* "GODDAMNIT, DIED AGAIN!"
~37:30 *bang bang bang go the potion keys* "****!"
~40:00 "CONNECTION INTERRUPTED? WHAT THE ****?"
...and repeat ad infinitum.

Yeah, it gets annoying. It seems that his problem is that the game is too fast-paced. But at the same time he's stubborn and isn't very open to new games. I tried to get him into Neverwinter Nights, but it was too complex. I was able to convince him to try F.A.T.E. and he liked that game for quite a while. I tried Braid, but his platforming skills are very poor (got past 2 levels). So I'm looking for a game that:

A.) is a dungeon crawler
B.) is turn-based
C.) has a gradual learning curve, and
D.) is a computer game (preferably Mac)

Any suggestions?

Try older rpg's - planescape: torment, Fallout 1, Fallout 2, Neverwinter Nights, "Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura" (all turn based except planescape, which has pause button), maybe some older bioware games (they normally have paus button).

Also there should be a couple of turn-based strategies (Blitzkrieg, for example), but I'm not a fan - so I can't really recommend anything.
