exfoliating and sunless spray tan?

once I get the tan color I wanted how many times do I exfoliate to keep it from fading after it's been a week I can't find neutrogena pre-sunless tan scrub so is their an exfoliating body and face scrub that's safe to use on dry face and body skin? I was going to start using aveeno exfoliating wash but I don't know if it'll make my tan fade?

I do airbrush tanning professionally. Sunless tanning lotions do not dye your skin but is a simple carbohydrate that reacts with the skins proteins to produce the "brown" color. Therefore sunless tans fade when your skin naturally exfoliates. You want to avoid exfoliating after you have applied sunless tanners until you want to remove all of the tan and start fresh. Exfoliating removes sunless tanners and moisturizers extend them. After about four days if you notice fading and want to freshen up your tan you can lightly exfoliate and apply a light layer of your sunless tan. As far as what you use to exfoliate, you don't need to buy an exfoliator and I actually tell my clients not to use store bought exfoliators because they contain moisturizers that inhibit the absortion of the sunless tanner. All you need is a simple exfoliating glove. You can buy them at the dollar store. If you want to use something with the glove buy a cheep shampoo like suave. Suave doesn't contain any moisturizers.
