Princess Tanning How come I went to Disney World and saw white people playing Princess Jasmine & Aladdin? Isn't that offensiv
I feel like MAN I'm seeing all this diversity of workers not just race, but accents as well, and then when I finally see Princess Jasmine and Aladdin I see they're white and they have tanning makeup on. I just felt offended and utterly pissed off b/c it's like they'd never have a black Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty. I mean for real i saw soooo many beautiful naturally tanned employees let alone Florida being so ethnically diverse and they had to pull that crappppp. tHE WHOLE THING IS when peopel are forced to be left out of stuff that's not right, and the one tiem I did see diverse characters, they're not played by ethninc people.
I didn't see Mulan so I'm not sure if one she's a character at the park and two if she's portrayed by an asian actress/model.
thoughts?
wow, the fact that you said "colored people" wow, we know what time you're living in!!!
I'm with you on this...you know other races tried out for those jobs. But, this is how america works, not just Disney.
Sunless tanning (also known as self tanning, fake tanning, or UVfree tanning) refers to applying chemicals to the body to produce an effect similar in appearance to a more traditional suntan. Sunless tanning arose in response to links between sun exposure and skin cancer discovered in the 1960s, along with other alternatives to natural sun tanning such as the use of a sunbed or tanning bed.The most effective products available are sunless tanning or self tanning lotions and sprays that contain dihydroxyacetone (DHA) as the active ingredient. The tan is not a dye, stain or paint, but a chemical reaction between the DHA and the amino acids in the dead layer on the skin surface. citation needed] This is similar to a reaction well known to food chemists called the Maillard reaction. Tanning addiction is a rare syndrome where an individual appears to have a physical and/or psychological addiction to sunbathing or the use of tanning beds. The mechanism of the addiction is unknown at this time.In 2005, a group of dermatologists published a study showing that frequent tanners experience a loss of control over their tanning schedule, displaying a pattern of addiction similar to smokers and alcoholics.Biochemical evidence indicates that tanning addicts are addicted to an opioid release experienced during tanning. When frequent tanners took an endorphin blocker in a 2006 study, they experienced severe withdrawal symptoms, while infrequent tanners experienced no withdrawal symptoms under the same conditions. A tanning bed or sunbed is a device emitting ultraviolet radiation (typically 95 UVA and 5 UVB, +/3) used to produce a cosmetic tan. Regular tanning beds use several fluorescent lamps that have phosphor blends designed to emit UV in a spectrum that is somewhat similar to the sun. Smaller, home tanning beds usually have 12 to 28 100 watt lamps while systems found in salons can run from 24 to 60 lamps, each consuming 100 to 200 watts. There are also high pressure tanning beds that generate primarily UVA with some UVB by using highly specialized quartz lamps, reflector systems and filters. These are much more expensive, thus less commonly used. A tanning booth is quite similar to a tanning bed, but the individual stands while tanning and the typical power output of booths is higher. So you think you’ve met your dream date and he seems like Prince Charming, but is he really the happily ever after perfect match you’ve been searching for? How can you tell? Are there signs?
You’ll know you’re in the fairy tale romance when you realize that you really don’t have a fairy tale romance and your Prince Charming is just Average Joe, but he is sweet and funny and loves you like a princess. Of course, he is handsome, but you know it’s real, when you both can be real with each other. Being a perfect match is more than taking a compatibility test or whether you like the same things. You know he’s your happily ever after when you are everything to him in the present moment.
Do his eyes light up when he sees you? If you’re at a party and you get separated and start talking to other friends, does he look around the room for you and catch your gaze and you feel as if he’s right there standing next to you? How do you feel when he’s with you? Do you have that strong connection? Are you both excited and can’t wait to see each other? These are all great signs of being a perfect happily ever match for each other.
The real test comes when you’re away from each other; whether at work or hanging out with other friends. Does he tell you that he’s constantly thinking about you? Is waiting all day for a chance to call you to say he wants to spend time with you later after work? What if he’s away on a business trip or away with friends? Can you trust him completely to be faithful even if you’re not there? If the answer is yes, then he’s one step closer to be that perfect match happily ever after material.
Does he hang onto your every word and you know that he’s really listening? You don’t have to repeat yourself and he doesn’t easily forget what you talked about. When you’re out to dinner or on a date, you know he’s a happily ever after perfect match because he does not have wandering eyes and he has eyes only for you. He respects your opinion and is open and vulnerable with you about his feelings and dreams and goals.
When times are tough, he will stick by you and he won’t run away. If you’re sick or something drastic happens in your life you don’t have to wonder if he cares because he will be with you through it all. When you share with him what your dreams and goals are, he will be supportive of you and help you find your dreams and accomplish your goals.
Finding your happily ever after perfect match is about keeping your eyes and ears open to see the signs and hear the words and feel the signals that you’ve found this perfect match. Intuition is a wonderful part of our lives and we don’t utilize it as often as we should. Our intuition will warn us when we are in a relationship that is not a perfect match for our lives. We just need to tune in to our intuition and listen and follow its lead. It won’t lead us down the wrong path. We head down the wrong path when we don’t follow its lead.
