Is it safe to use sunblock daily?

I recently(in my 30's) realized i am not as resilient as in my 20's and decided to take UVA/UVB rays SERIOUSLY.
So i bought some cetaphil face-spf15 lotion and some bullfrog quik-gel for arms and legs.
After extensive research on wikipedia i realized most of the ingridients like avobezone or tinanium dioxide has not been fully concluded in testing.
Also the fact that these CHEMICALS i'm rubbing into my precious skin and my liver will end up processing them at the end of the day.
SO,any input from EXPERIENCED sun experts??

Basically i want to protect UVA/UVB rays but don't want to take a chance with all that chemicals.
I read that zinc oxide is the best BUT very gooey and thick to apply.I'm a gel person,oil-free and dry type is preferred.

I work for a melanoma specialist and he says that you should use an SPF 30 sunscreen or higher at all times. He says most brands are the same so it really doesnt matter which one you use. It is safer to use sunscreen than to not use sunscreen.
