Safe Block Water

does anyone know if a gpu water block for the 8800gt will work for the 9600 gt?

well i have a pny 9600gt 512mb and i wanna overclock like ALOT but i wanna water cool cuz its the safest way to overclock. i looked all over and i cant find one thats EXCATLY for the 9600gt. but as long as it fits, im good. now i just want to noe about the water block nobody trying to say"why not just get a after market cooler with the special fan"

i dont know if i got some kind of freak card from bfg but. i have a 8800gt oc2. it comes from bfg at 675 mhz vs. 600 stock. i can oc it to 760 along with just as much of an increase on my memory and shaders. and it runs 100% stable and no more than 65c. im sure a 9800gt will do even better, because the only difference is its 55 nm. mine is 65nm. meaning hypothetically you will be able to overclock more and use less power. but then again like i said im sure i just got a realy great card, and even though i dont need water cooling on mine, if i did have it it wouldnt make a difference anyway because i cant see stability after 770 mhz, and it runs cool enough on air.
but as far as i know the cards are suposed to be exactly the same. but then again 8800gt's have the whole card covered with that metal plate. 9800gt's do not. take a look at the pics of the backside and see if the screws line up with your 9800. because the back on the 8800gt's is bare. 8800 gt's have 12 screws.

Safe Drinking Water Act – Is It Enough To Ensure The Quality Of The Water You Consume?

Do you know that something called Safe Drinking Water Act even exists? It is a law which standardizes the quality of the drinking water and ensures its safety for consumption. Unfortunately not many people are aware about this act. Let us take a look at what it is exactly.

The Safe Drinking Water Act was passed in 1974 by the Environment Protection Agency (EPA). This law provides EPA the right to enforce quality standards on the drinking water. It is also responsible for protecting the natural sources of water like rivers, lakes, ground water etc.

The way it works is that when there is a contaminant found in the water, EPA carries on certain tests and sets a parts per billion (ppb) limit on the traces of a contaminants that are allowed in the drinking water. The proportion of contaminant within this limit is considered to be safe for human consumption.

The irony here is that these regulations, though extremely essential for our health, are not up to the mark. Take the example of Chlorine – the most common contaminant in water.

While the EPA considers 4 ppb of chlorine safe for consumption, a standard swimming pool kit raises a red flag for chlorine level more than 3 ppb. Now, how can something which is unsafe to swim in, be safe for consumption?

Don’t you think the Safe Drinking Water Act needs some serious amendments here? Moreover, how do we ensure that it is updated at the same pace with which more and more contaminants are being found in today’s world?

Another important point to consider here is the fact that Safe Drinking Water Act does not cover well water. So, if you are consuming the water coming straight from the well, you cannot just rely on this law to ensure its quality. You have to do the tests yourself and take the necessary action to ensure you are consuming clean and pure water only.

The fact is that there are over 80,000 contaminants found in water at one point or another. There are over 160,000 public water systems to be regulated. The Safe Drinking Water Act can not be enforced completely unless the required man power and funds are made available. It is a difficult thing to achieve and not something that I would prefer to wait for.

Instead I chose to have a water purifier installed at my home. I am relieved of all the worries now.
