I Have a New Tattoo and I Want To SWIM!?

i have huge angel wings on my back and i just got the shading finished on the left wing yesterday.. and tomorrow im invited to a pool party, i want to swim, even if i just jump in off the diving board and then have to get right back out.. if there is some way i could protect it, (like a coat of vaseline and then sunblock to shield out everything) along with me only being in the water for a few seconds at a time...
that would be great info to know, but if cant without ruining my tattoo, Damn, That Sucks... i guess no swimming for me then..

You have to be worried about not only the water, but also the sun. The chlorine in the pool can affect the color. Just think of pouring diluted bleach on your new tattoo....not good. Also, sun can also have the same bleaching affect. On a new tattoo you want to use sun block whenever you feel it will be exposed to the sun. The UV rays can fade tattoos and especially more so when the tattoo is fresh and there is a very thin layer of skin covering the tattoo. In short, I wouldn't risk it. Stay out of the pool and cover the tattoo if you can.

Tip 1:  Wash Your Skin with a Glycerin or Sorbitol Based Product.
