what is the best way to get a tan?

ok so i have heard of so many different ways to get a good tan. of coarse there is the sun, then there are solariums and there is also do-it-yourself tanning lotions/ sprays etc. I have tried the sun smart way of using self tanners but they always seem to not work. they go blotchy or last for a few days then come off, or they are orange to begin with!!!
i am wondering what is the best way to get a good tan in about a month, preferably using the sun. Is it true that you can still get a tan while in the shade or wearing sunscreen or is this a lie?? any advice would be helpful thanks

The best way without harm, like tanning salons, is to go to a beach and apply tanning oil, not sunscreen and tan. If there's not a beach nearby, laying on the roof works just as well. The sand and roof tiles attract the sun's rays. Good Luck!
