Spray Tans!?

I've got a few questions about spray tanning (like the kind done at a salon.)

1. do you get naked, or are you in your underwear?

2. how much does it normally cost?

3. how long does it last?

4. is it pretty permanent? (meaning, it won't just wash off after a week)

5. does it look natural?

6. is it better for someone to spray you, or to stand in one of those booths?

Also, school starts on August 7th. What date should I get the tan done?
ps. how long does the tan itself last, and how often would i need to go back and get it again?

1. Mostly everyone goes naked, you can wear underwear but they will get ruined by the spray. If you go in a spray booth it is private.

2. Where I go it cost 19.00. Where I use to go it cost 25.00. It depends on where you are at.

3. 5-7 days-it is just a chemical reaction on the skin. Every time you shower and your skin naturally exfoliates your tan wears off.

4. After a week, most of your spray tan will be gone. I have tried several sprays and regardless of what they say, a week is the most I have gotten out of it.

5. Yes, if you use one of the newer machines. The only thing I need to worry about is wiping off my hands and feet.

6. If someone sprays you it tends to be more expensive and less private. Airbrushing seems to have less room for error. The booths cost less and are private. If you do not follow instruction you were given there is more room for error.

If you want a tan for August 7th, I would suggest doing it the day before, August 6th. The day after I spray is my darkest tan day.

  Keep reading for a few tips that will put to rest any uncertainties you might have:

• Avoid any lotions, oils or moisturizers prior to the mobile tanning procedure.  In fact, many mobile tanning companies recommend exfoliating before the tanning session for a smoother and longer lasting tan.

• Choose a mobile tanning company that can help you determine the best products for your skin tones and expectations.  Ensure the products include high quality Dihyroxyacetone, or DHA, to ensure a natural glow. • The mobile tanning process incorporates airbrushing and is quite different from traditional spray booths.  It's quicker and some say more effective.
• The process itself usually takes less than thirty minutes, so realistically, you can have the procedure completed within an  hour.  This makes the sessions perfect for those wishing to tan during their lunch hours or before a big night on the town.  There's no strong scents or oils involved that could ruin your clothing, but you might want to wear loose clothing the day of your tanning session for your own comfort.
• Keep in mind, you should wait at least eight hours after the application before showering.  Also, expect to lose part of the tanning solution after your first shower.  This is normal and in fact, is intended to ensure the tanning application is seamless and more natural.
• Ask the mobile tanning operator about other recommendations for maintaining your new tan.
