How do spray tanning booths work?

I understand you go in and get it sprayed on and stuff but like how? is it safe unlike tanning booths?? Also, how much does it cost and where can I find one?

Any good tips from people out there who get it done and know what to do beforehand? Does it wear off on your clothes? How long do they take to start fading in color?

i've done the mystic spray on tan and the versa spa spray on, many many times and i love them! i work at a tanning salon and a lot of people use them!
the people that work at the salon will show you exactly what to do, and all the positions that you need to stand in. they might even have you watch a demo video..it depends i guess.
but here's how they work...you'll go back to your room and undress and put the hair cap (provided) over your hair with just a little bit of your hairline showing. then put the barrier cream on your fingernails, in between your fingers, on the palms of your hands, and on your toenails, between your toes and the heels of your feet. the salon will provide the barrier cream as well.
next, get in the booth and stand in the first position. once you're ready push the green flashing button, get back in position, hold your breath and keep your eyes closed. you will stand in all the positions that that certain booth requires while it sprays you. when it finishes get out of the booth.
if you tanned in the mystic..you'll towel dry off afterwards. don't push too hard, but make sure you're completely dry. if not you have a chance of streaking.
if you tanned in the versa spa it will dry you off through the nozzles, but you can gently pat yourself down with a towel afterwards if you feel the need to.
don't get wet for 4-6 hours, but i'd suggest 6-7.
take your hair cap off, get dressed and then you'll be good to go!

before you go make sure you have exfoilated, shaved, and showered and don't wear any lotion into the booth (except the barrier cream you put on in your room).
it might rub off on your clothes, but it should wash out easily. just make sure you're completely dry before you get dressed.
most UV-free tans last about a week, depending on how hydrated and healthy your skin is. once you shower the bronzer is going to come off, causing your tan to fade a little, but any tan is going to fade eventually.

the cost is usually $20-$30..depending on the salon and any discounts you may get for them. just ask
sometimes its cheaper to buy more than one session, or do a month-to-month thing.

i have no idea where you live, but just call your local tanning salons and see if they have any UV-free spray tan booths.

What do you think about spray tanning in booths?I'll return the favor.?

I have pale skin, and I was contemplating getting a spray tan in a booth at one of the salons. Any comments if I should, shouldn't, or any tips? I want to color to look pretty natural, not orange. Thank you =)

My advice: don't. It's just not possible to have a spray-tan look natural. I, too, am pale and I am very proud of my creamy skin! Use a bronzer (best is by GloMinerals™ sold in high-end salons and plastic surgeons offices) but it shouldn't be applied exactly like blush. It should be put on almost like parentheses around your eyes, up onto your forehead and then wherever sun would naturally hit, like on your nose and chin, a bit.
