Lasts about 3 weeks..
If you are going to have it done for a holiday, then definitely have the spray tan a week before your go. I had it done the day before i went to Portugal and it rained and as i was walking my tan was literally dripping off me. Also, a week leaves enough time for it too 'sink' in to your body and look more natural.

What You Need to Look For in Your Swimsuit Shop - Finding the Perfect Swimsuit For Summer

First, lets talk about the preparation.  A couple of days before you venture out, get a spray tan, it will make you look skinnier and lessen any cellulite or skin imperfections that you may have.  Also, start drinking a lot of water, this will flush out any toxins that are making you bloated making you look your best.

Now stand in the mirror and assess your body type, are you going to want a bikini, one piece, tankini or monokini?  Are you looking for support, tie sides, padding a halter neck?  Working this out before time will save you the pain while your in the store.  Write it down if you have to and stick it in your handbag so when the stress hits and your mind goes black you will have something to refer to.

The day of the shopping trip, put some makeup on and do your hair, it's amazing how a pretty face can make clothes of any description look so much better.  Don't eat a massive dinner the day before, don't eat for 2 hours before you shop and go to the toilet so your stomach is as flat as possible.

When you enter the store go straight to what you want, don't get side tracked by the pretty colors or pictures your there to fulfill you mission, to buy a swimsuit for summer.  Take at least 5 swimsuits in with you,if one doesn't look so great you may become disillusioned so put the next one on as quickly as possible.  Get a size bigger than you think you need, it's always easier to say to the shop assistant "I think I need a size smaller" than "I think I need a size bigger" this can be humiliating when the shop is full of people.

Once you have chosen your swimsuit and you're looking fabulous, pay and leave the swimsuit shop immediately, don't give yourself time to second guess your purchase.

Of course swimsuit shopping online is a great alternative, you can pick a 'skinny' mirror, light yourself nicely and wait till your having a 'thin day', then try on your swimwear.  Most online stores have generous returns policies so if it doesn't fit or you don't like it, try again!
