The Twins As Senators And Clark Griffith

The club was founded in Washington, D.C. in 1901 as the Washington Senators. From 1911 to 1933, the Senators were a greatly successful franchise in major-league baseball. The team's rosters included Hall of Famers- Goose Goslin, Sam Rice, Joe Cronin, Bucky Harris, and Heinie Manush. Walter Johnson, “Big Train” was an all time great pitcher of the team. Yet, the Senators had a reputation of mediocrity.

Through 1910s and 1920s, Clark Griffith focused as GM and later Team President to lead the Senators. His efforts bore fruit as the Senators won the 1924 World Series.
