Sun Protection Factor
Anyone know anything about spf?
I know it stands for something like "sun protection factor," I'm just wondering what the chemical is that's in it to make it protect us from the sun, where it comes from naturally, why there are different strengths, and how it protects us.
The "protectiveness" of clothing can also be measured by SPF.
Lotion or sunscreen that blocks ultraviolet light from damaging the skin also has SPF.
Sunscreen uses titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, or a combination of both for it's Sun Protection Factor (SPF) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunscreen
