Are their any negative side effects with using sunless tan moisturizers??

Like neutragena or Dove etc...

The only side effects most people experience is streaking due to uneven application (which can be evened out with time and practice) and in some cases an aversion to the smell of the product, although most have fairly innocuous scents. Also, some sunless tanning creams can give the skin an orange hue.

Prior to using a sunless tan cream or moisturizer, it's a good idea to exfoliate the skin so that the moisturizer will be evenly distributed. Areas of dry skin and dead skin cells absorb more of the moisturizer than other areas, resulting in undesirable patches of darker or orange looking skin.

One side effect that might occur is skin damage if you do not apply sunblock in addition to your self-tanning cream when you go outside. Most self-tanning creams do not contain sunblock, so don't mistakenly assume that you're protected in the sun if you're wearing a self-tanning cream. You're not.

Oh, and don't forget to wash your hands with soap after application, paying special attention to the areas between your fingers. Otherwise you may end up with darkened palms, which is a short-term but unattractive side effect indeed!
