Suntan Tanning Sun will sun tan lotion prevent you from getting a suntan?
because if i get a suntan i start burning really bad and when i'm walking outside i do put suntan lotion on and i wear a jacket and jeans because last year i got a suntan and it made me burn alot and it made me itch it wasn't a sunburn i know it was a suntan plus i wanna stay white(no i'm not gothic)i just think suntans are unappealing and ugly no offense if you have one or like suntans i just don't thats me.I'm 14 so if i really put suntan lotion on i wont get a suntan? because i never put it on last year i forgot to plus i hate suntans because it took me till December winter for the ugly thing to go away!

Will using suntan lotion (spf 30) decrease the rate at which i get a tan?
does suntan lotion decrease the tanning effect of the sun or exemplify it?
It decreases the suntan effect...i.e. if I go to the beach here in fl. without sunblock i can get burnt in an hour or so, if I put on sunblock ( a lot) I can stay 4 or 5 hrs without getting burnt. So it does take longer to get a tan with sunblock on, but you still get one...if I am after a quik tan I go without sunblock for about the first hour and then slop it on the rest of the afternoon...
