Working under the sun. Do i need sunblock lotion?

So my work will start next week at Sentosa Island (Singapore) and i will be staying outdoors. Though i believe a tiny hut/shelter will be present for me to "hide" in, i think that i will still be very much exposed to the sun.

I will be working 5hrs per day for 5 days per week and so i would like to ask is it better for me to apply some sunblock to my face and arms during work or can i just work without any protection? Cause i dun wanna end up having sunburnt skin but wanna get a really nice tan instead =)

And if i should put on sunblock on every working day, will the sunblock actually harm my skin due to prolonged usage?

You absolutely will be safer (and healthier), if you use a sunblock. Actually, if you spend that many hours in the sun, you will still get a lovely tan.
