Tanning Canopy Alisun
I wear goggles on my tanning bed (sunbed) but my eyes get very dry and sore the next day. Advice?
I have a canopy Alisun Salsa sunbed at home which I am using to tan before my holiday. I use those black plastic goggles on the elastic, got them from ebay, but every time I use it, my eyes get very dry and sore and irritated the next day. I've never hadthis on sunbeds before, has anybody else? Any medical advice, anyone? And I don't need a lecture about using sunbeds, thank you!
) Relevant answers appreciated.
Plastic isn't a good conductor of heat and trace chemical fumes might be causing your eye irritation although, the possibility of a slight corneal eye burn exists if the lenses don't block 100% of UV rays. Suggest you get a new pair of sunglasses - you should, probably, talk with a pharmacist about sunglasses for use in a confined area and your eye irritation as well as getting a recommendation for natural tears or an eye lubricating product.
The following isn't a lecture (as you'll note). My mother and I had gone shopping in the morning and, near 1:30pm, I drove her to the post office as she wanted to mail a parcel. I parked and, when she stepped out, a car was approaching to park - the driver tooted the horn, she turned and smiled and the driver came to a super-fast stop. Within seconds, three well-dressed businessmen (in their, early, 40's) leapt out of the car to help her with her one-lb. pkg. and invited her to lunch which she, graciously, accepted for the both of us (as I stepped out of the car). And - the moral of the story is ... to be glamourous and 98% wrinkle-free, at 78 (and 55), don't bake your skin. (Oh ... two lawyers and an ad-agency exec. who, probably, wrote us off as a business expense!)
