Question about L'Oreal Sublime Self-Tanning Gel?

I recently bought the L'Oreal Sublime self tanner gel and I use it after I shower... and my skin always feels dry afterwards. Is it safe to use regular lotion and then use the self tanning gel? I just dont want to interfere with the self tanning process...
