First time tanning questions?

So I've been planning on going tanning at a salon for a while now. I was only gonna go that one time, for about 5 minutes. Would it really do any harm if I go just once? Also, should I go in a level 1 or 2 bed? I guess I'm a little tan already, but I just want to be a litttle more tan! What's the goggle situation like? If I wear them will they give me those raccoon eyes? How much are they? Also, would I need to buy lotion? How much are those usually? Tips for a good tan would be appreciated too! =) & if you use sunless tanning lotions, what are your favorite brands? Thanks!

One time will most likely not give you a significant change in your skin tone. But, I would recommend a level 1 bed. In most tanning salons, goggles will be provided for you in the room, and no, they will not give you raccoon eyes. You don't need to buy lotion, but it would be smart to bring a tanning lotion with a 15 SPF with you. You can usually buy these at drugstores, they range from about 4-8 bucks. If you do chose to tan more often, the salon will offer "packages". These packages usually ask you to pay a certain amount of money for unlimited tanning and sometimes throw in a free bottle of tanning lotion, but this differs with salons. If you are looking for sunless tanning lotions, I'd recommend Jergen's tanning lotion. It's wonderful & moisturizing but won't make you orange! Just make sure to wash the palms of your hands after each use.
