Tanning Lotion Fresh Tanning with fresh scratches?
I have a new kitten that thinks my arm is her scratching post. I went to the tanning salon today, hoping to tan for 20 minutes. I got all my lotion on and laid in the bed, and the places where she scratched me started burning SO bad. I made it about 8 minutes before I had to get out of the bed. I felt so embarrassed when I went to tell the salon employee that I had to have her shut down the bed. I've never had a problem with this before, and I am not sure why my scratches started burning. Any ideas what could have caused this? I am getting married in a few weeks, and I would really like to get a tan before the wedding.
You cannot tan with a fresh scar. Scars are delicate and very sensitive. Tanning them will actually make them worse. Wait until the scar has healed and apply a thin coat of sunblock to them. What caused it...heat and open or new wounds is never a good idea. When you get scratched your nerves in the area are damaged and highly sensitive. This is what caused the pain. The pain is a good thing. It stopped you from getting a burn and preventing damage to a healing wound. Wait a week then go. Okay? =)
