Tanning Oil Lot Do I need to put on sun screen or lotion before applying tanning oil?
I have some spray on tanning oil for outside and inside and I want to use it out in the sun but I'm not sure if it will protect me from getting burned. It has no protection rating or whatever like the others I've seen. I'm really white so I worry a lot about burning. What should I do to get dark but not burn? I hope I gave enough information. the whole point of taning oil is that it makes you more suceptable to uv light so you tan more. the 2 creams have opposite purposes. if you want to protect your skin, use sunscreen, NOT tanning oil. if you want a tan, use tanning oil NOT sunscreen.
if you compare protecting your skin from the sun to preserving the temperature of a glass of water on a hot day, then putting on tanning oil is like putting the water in a sauce pan and boiling it. putting on sunscreen is like adding ice to the glass. what your suggesting is putting water on the hob, and putting a few ice cubes in there. its totally pointless.
in the interest of protecting your skin, especially if your pale, i would suggest usung sunscreen, NOT tanning oil.
tanning oil companies make out like tanning and burning is a different process, and you can use creams to seperate the 2. you can't, its one process, it takes different skin types different amount of time and exposure to get to the buning point. and creams either speed them up or slow them down. using the 2 2getha will just decrease the effectiveness of both.
