Will tanning my face to clear my skin still work if I'm wearing sunblock?

I don't particularly care to be tan, never have, we Irish tend to burn, peel and turn back to ghostly white in 2 days anyway but it really does help clear up my skin. However, I don't want to look like old shoe leather by the time I'm 40 as a result of sun damage.

Will I still get the same acne clearing/drying effects if I'm wearing a SPF 50+ sunblock?

I've got 1/2 irish in me.
And I tan a lot. and I'm very pale burn easy.
but I use a dark tanning oil and it made me tan within 3 weeks just going for
10 mins a day.
not to mention kept my face clear also.

But I guess it would be
fine to use a sunblock.

Using Sunblock to Prevent Skin Problems

Some people are under the mistaken assumption that the only time to use sunscreen is on especially hot and sunny days. The truth is that anytime that we're out in the sun, the sun's rays are having a negative impact on our skin. This is one reason why it's especially important to get sunscreen that protects against UVA rays. Despite the fact that UVA doesn't cause any burning sensation or redness, it is actually the primary cause of skin cancer. So when you're looking to buy sunscreen, make sure that you make an educated choice that will truly protect you from skin problems.
