I use fake tan butI have chest and back acne. Help!?

I have had acne on and of for years now on my chest and back. I am 18 and I use fake tan I mostly use the gradual one like Dove or No7 from boots. Recently my acne has come back and I am on tablets for it to clear up. I have got some on my chest and I am wondering can fake tans worsen it?
