Does the tantowel tan wash off? ?

I used the TanTowel towelette yesterday following the directions. Within a couple hours I had the perfect tan but last night before bed I washed my face like I do every night and this morning I noticed it was faded. Not completely but it definitely didn't look like yesterday. Did I do wrong in washing my face?

All sunless tanners fade when you wash after application. Of course, you must wash, so you just have to re-apply once or twice a week to keep your color.
