Tinted Veil Tan

I am East Indian and my skin is similar to Beyonce. What shade of bare minerals should I use?

I went to Sephora and the lady there told me that I should do medium tan. But she applied it on me (and then applied Warmth and tinted mineral veil) and I ended up looking way too orange and dark and my face was a totally different shade from my neck. I think I should try medium beige or golden tan, perhaps - something lighter. I told the lady that I don't want to look too orange, and she said "Oh, don't worry, I would never let you buy something that makes you look orange". But the funny part is, she was looking way too orange herself - so who knows. Any help would be appreciated!
