st tropez step 3 lotion advice pls ppl x?

I was advised to exfoliate as much as poss prior to applying the self tan. I exfoliated yesterday and this morning using st ives invigorating scrub. I will exfoliate 2moz using the st tropez body polish. but wud it make any difference if I exfoliated again tonight using the st tropez body polish and exfoliate in the morning and then again in the evening b4 I apply the self tan? will it make my tan develop better due to all the exfoliation? and also would it apply better to the skin? thanks

There are two main reasons for exfoliating before self-tanning. One is so that the cream goes on more smoothly (no fun trying to go over dry, dead skin.) The second reason is that if you start with fresh skin (the new skin underneath all the dead skin that you scrub off), the tan will last longer because the skin is newer. That's how it works with any tan - fake or real...they can only last as long as the skin does. This is also another reason why you always want to moisturize when you have any kind of tan - to prevent skin from flaking.

So, to answer your question, does it look like you still have dead skin cells or really rough areas? If so, then you might want to exfoliate those areas again. If not, you can only exfoliate so much before there's really nothing coming off! So what I'd do is exfoliate once and then apply the self tanner right after when the skin is the refreshed. Then use the St. Tropez Body Moisturizer-Hydratante at least daily to keep skin moisturized to extend the life of your tan. Good luck!

p.s. Remember to be careful when applying tanner to the knees, elbows, ankles or any other rougher areas. Also, remember to wash your hand IMMEDIATELY after applying the self tanner or you'll have orange palms.
