If UVA is worse for the body, than why use sunscreen?

I read UVA is more dangerous than UVB. So if I don't burn, then is it really logical to use sunscreen instead of sunblock apart from the tan aspect?
You're not answering my question. UVA rays are the ones that are causing cancer and skin damage, NOT UVB. So why are sunscreens being used so much. And what is the incentive of using it instead of sunblock?

A tan is skin damage. Sunscreen helps not only helps protecting the skin from various forms of cancer, but also prevents burning.
