where do I find these?

I have recently cut off the rest of my permed ends after going permless for about 16 months and have been trying to make some of the home made hair care recipes but I have had trouble finding some of the oils including e.o.s, safflower, peppermint, rosemary, etc., pure shea butter, pure aloe vera gel, emulsifying wax, wheat germ oil, any clues to what (type) stores I should try? About how much do they cost?

I found some essential oils at a little dinky nutrition store in the town I live in. Most places that sell a lot of vitamins, holistic remedies, organic foods.... places like that is where you will be most likely to find the oil and pure shea butter. Check google to see if you have a store near you called 'Wild Oats'. It's a nationwide chain and they carry a lot of this type of stuff, although there are many other similar stores out there.

The prices vary. For example, I have Rosemary oil, Orange oil, and Petitgrain oil - all of which I got for about $15, I believe. However, one bottle of Sandalwood oil can cost you $40-70. I know Rosemary oil is good for your scalp, but I got the other two to add a couple drops into a spray bottle of water to refresh my hair when it needs it (maybe in between washings) and it makes it smell great! I also have Jojoba oil for my hair, which was about $7 for a bottle that should last a looong time.

It is a forum type of website that I'm a member of, however you don't have to join to look around and read most everything. It is broken down into categories like "The Mane Hair Forum" and "Recipes", among others... so it will be easy to find the recipes or whatever you are looking for. There's also a search box.
