St. Tropez tanning??!?

I just recently bought the st. Tropez whipped bronzing mousse and I was wondering if I could just use regular lotion before I put it on. I didn't buy the st. Tropez pre lotion, so would a regular kind be fine to use? Also, when you wash it off 4 hours later, should I use soap and scrub or just rinse it with water? Please answer it's appriciated! Thanks

The most important thing when using bronzing mousse is that you have sloughed off dry skin and thoroughly exfoliated. The idea of the pre-lotion is that it will soften the areas of dry skin that are thicker and it will enable the mousse to take more evenly, and no doubt the manufacturers have developed a formula for the pre-lotion to facilitate and optimise the efficacy of their own mousse. If you have a good long bath and scrub off any dry skin before you apply your mousse it should work just the same. Just rinse yourself after the prescribed time, then use regular lotion to moisturise. You can use soap the following day. The mousse only colours your outer layer of skin, so better not scrub, or you will soon lose your tan. You may find that your sheets acquire a slight brown hue as you shed skin on the area in which you sleep.
